Who: Denise Bukowski, literary agent
What: “While driving through Yellowstone National Park many years ago, my then-husband and I stopped in a long queue of cars watching bears cavorting by the highway.
My husband had his window rolled down on our old VW Beetle. One of the bears looked directly at him and decided to amble over to get to know him better. As it approached, my husband frantically started to wind up the window.
The handle came off. The bear got closer.
The panicked driver struggled to reattach the door handle, with no success. Finally it took, and the window was shut tight just as a paw slapped against it.”
I am collecting bear stories. They can be written or filmed. If you have one, please get in touch.
